Annette Raddatz was raised in Washington where she had a calling to become a doctor at the age of 8 after an encounter with the infamous Dr. Collins of the Townsend Letter (an Alternative Medical journal). After years of treatment from her local Chiropractor who saved her from ACL surgery at the age of 16 due to a ski injury, she started studying and mentoring with DC, MD Janel Carlson. Annette had every intention of becoming a Chiropractor and enrolled at Idaho State University where she graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in PreMed. It was during her very last semester that she had her first Acupuncture treatment after a severe car accident that left her immobile with debilitating pain. She experienced such tremendous relief and gained full mobility after her treatment that she changed the direction of her studies to Acupuncture and Asian Medicine. Annette attended the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine & Acupuncture (PIHMA) and graduated in 2007 with a Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She is NCCAOM certified and a member of The American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. “Professionally, I had the opportunity to work for Desert Kidney Associates and cared for patients on hemodialysis and saw firsthand the daily challenges they experience due to their chronic disease. And after my personal traumatic event, placenta abruptio due to elevated blood pressure and undergoing a partial hysterectomy, I realized first- hand that women have very few options for successfully treating menopausal symptoms including hot flashes. I take health supplements to manage my postmenopausal symptoms including Estrovera, which I recommend to my patients, family, and friends. I have also had the privilege to care for hospice patients in their home, and it is for these reasons that I have decided to advocate for women’s health, focus on preventative care and wellness, and manage chronic diseases. I enjoy spending time with patients and educating them about their chronic diseases and teaching them how to better manage them through diet, exercise, meditation, and lifestyle change. I would love the opportunity to join you on your journey to better health.”
We know how difficult it can be to stick to new fitness regimes – to put yourself first. With each challenge faced (work, travel, children, injury etc), your goals seem less and less achievable. It can appear to be an uphill and lonely struggle – almost too intimidating to even start.
